When you will talk about the Macintosh computers and specifically about the desktop computers then the first name comes to mind is iMac. It has been a creation of Apple Inc as they designed and built it. It is the most popular and best selling computer in the Apple’s inventory of Desktop Computers. When you will look at the history of the iMac then you will be amazed to see the evolution and the changes through which it has undergone. The first of its type was the G3 which was an egg shaped computer with a cathode ray tube monitor. The plastic was the main ingredient in its built. An important feature of this model was that it contains the CPU in it and both were as a single unit.

The second of its kind was G4 which was accompanied with a LCD monitor with a large screen size that was around 15inches. The design was like a hemispherical base in which all the components were enclosed. After these designs there comes some real iMac, iMac G5, which is slime and thin, however, all the important components of the computer are enclosed behind it. As it is consciously made slimmer, hence it uses a Power PC chip Architecture. These computers are basically described as all-in-one computers as they contain every thing in a single unit.

iMac G5 have a lot of benefits that its user can enjoy. If you are looking for a slim version of desktop computers then it should be on your first priority. There are a lot of features that make it much more popular among the different users. When you will first use it, you will certainly like the feature of having a built in iSight camera, that you can use while video conferencing. Also, another top facility that you get from it is the remote control that let you handle your media even from a reasonable distance. This remote control actually works with the software named as Front Row. Front Row is the main software in Macintosh computers that enable its users to explore the media files in the computer. Along with many other advantages, price is another thing that has contributed towards its popularity, as it is quite reasonable for the Apple products; hence, people are more than happy to avail it.

IT certainly is a treat for the users who don’t have that much money to spend on the luxurious computers. The latest of the iMac is now coming with some added support. As you can now use the feature of iLife that makes it so easy to turn your photos, movies, and music into, podcasts, books, and calendars, the latest version of iLife really makes it easy for you to create website, easily. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also quite amazing to have in the computer. Some of the people were a little wary about the security in its previous models but latest iMac has surpassed them all with the rock solid security.

As a whole, you can say that it is really a nice to have computer for the people with the medium budget.

IMac

Apple Insider has posted their review of the new Apple IMac where they write “Setting up the iMac is also just about as trouble-free as it has been for past iMacs, particularly in the era of near-ubiquitous wireless. Were it not for our need to stop and take photos, we would have had our entire review system ready in just minutes. As with any modern Mac, the new iMac may only require as much as a power cable when it sits on your desk. Our first boot was extremely smooth and guided us through choosing languages, configuring our Wi-Fi connection, and setting up both a user account and registration information in just a few minutes — though as usual, Apple tries to foist .Mac on its customers before the Mac OS X desktop will make its first appearance.”
